Terms & Conditions

1. Retreat Booking:

(a) Your payments are refundable until 60 days before the retreat start date, minus the $250 non-refundable deposit. Cancellations that occur less than 60 days before the retreat will incur cancellation charges as set out in paragraph 6 below.

(b) Your booking is not considered definite and no contract will exist between you and Awakened Wellness until we receive full payment from you.

(c) We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with any 3rd parties.

2. Payment:

(a) Your non-refundable deposit holds your space, including access to early bird pricing if you are one of the first 6 people to complete the registration form and submit the $250 deposit in full.

(b) An invoice for the remaining payment will be sent to your email address following registration. The remaining payment will be due via check or bank transfer to avoid additional online processing fees.

(c) Payment via check: Our mailing address will be included on your invoice. Payment via bank transfer: we will email you our banking details on request.

3. Accommodation:

(a) All retreat accommodations are located on OM at Cashew Hill’s private campus, and available for your retreat dates only. Accommodations for any additional days spent in Puerto Viejo will be your own responsibility.

(b) Accommodations will be shared with those identifying as the same gender. Each person will have their own bed, access to a shared private bathroom and in-room kitchenette.

(c) If you are traveling with a friend and have a rooming request, please email Awakened Wellness to communicate this.

4. Your Travel Arrangements:

All travel arrangements are your responsibility and at you own cost. We shall not be held liable for any consequences arising from delays or cancellations in any of the companies you may have made arrangements with, or for any irregularities in your documentation required for travel.

Transfer from the San Jose or Limon airport to OM at Cashew Hill is not included in the retreat rate in order to allow for the freedom and flexibility of individual travel plans. However, OM at Cashew Hill is able to assist with scheduling your transfers. Cost and logistics will be discussed closer to the retreat dates.

 

5. Travel Insurance:

We recommend you have travel insurance as things do happen.  Your travel insurance should cover the activity of this retreat as well as unexpected cancellation, sickness, losses and all the usual risks. World Nomads and Insure My Trip are two suggested sites. 

6. Your Health:

(a) You should also consult a doctor to check that you are sufficiently fit and healthy to travel to a jungle environment and undertake yoga classes and hiking in addition to any other physical activities that you plan to participate in (e.g. surfing, kayaking, cycling, etc.).

(b) Please be sure to advise us of any health conditions before you book. We reserve the right to decline your application. If you do not advise us of your health conditions we reserve the right to cancel your booking.

(c) While all measures are taken to ensure a high standard of health and safety, we are situated in the jungle where hazards do exist and we shall not be responsible for any injuries or illnesses obtained.

(d) Women who are 12 to 28 weeks pregnant should provide a letter from their health practitioner specifying that they are fit to travel and able to engage in the activities that we provide.

7. Cancellation by you:

You (or any member of your party) may cancel your booking at any time, providing that the cancellation is made by the person submitting the booking form and notified to us in writing. Cancellation will take effect the day such notification is received by us. As this incurs administrative costs, your $250 deposit will not be reimbursed. In addition, if such cancellation is made within 30 days or less before the start of the retreat, regardless of reason, we will retain 50% of the total cost of the retreat. If another person can be found to take your place, then we may offer you a 75% refund at our discretion. Once the retreat has begun, no refund or partial refund will be repaid in the event of cancellation or early departure by you. Bookings are for the stated period of the retreat. There are no refunds for an unused portion of the retreat if you choose not to participate in a portion. If the reason for cancellation is covered under the terms of your Insurance Policy, you may be able to make a claim.

 

8. Cancellation by Awakened Wellness:

We reserve the right in any circumstances to cancel a retreat, in which case we will offer a full refund of all money paid within 20 working days. In particular our retreats require a minimum number of participants to run. If this minimum number is not reached we may cancel and refund the money to you. This trip will run with a minimum of 10 travelers. When that number has been reached, we will be in touch to confirm that the trip will run. If we do not meet our minimum number, we will refund your deposit and any other amount already paid. We strongly recommend you do not book your flight before the trip is confirmed.

9. Our liability to you:

(a) We accept responsibility for ensuring that the retreats are supplied as described and that the services we commit to provide are to a reasonable standard.

(b) We do not accept any liability for cancellations, delays or changes caused by war, threat of war, terrorist actions or threats, closure of airports, civil strife, industrial action, natural disaster, technical problems to transport, staff cancellations, unforeseen changes in your personal circumstances or other events beyond our control.

(c) We are not liable for any injuries you may incur. All activities are undertaken at your own risk. We are not liable for any medical or psychiatric conditions which may develop during or subsequent to the retreat. We are not liable for loss of, or damage to, your personal property.

10. Group Bookings: Each individual must complete their own registration form to ensure personal responsibility. A deposit from every group member is required. If any member of the group can not come for any reason, their deposit is forfeited, along with upholding any additional cancellation terms.

11. Complaints:

If you have a problem during your retreat, please inform Awakened Wellness immediately and he/she will endeavor to put things right. Please note that we cannot guarantee the proportion of male/female guests in any group, and we cannot be responsible for the individual behavior of any group member or other guest.

We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with any 3rd parties. Any personal information that you provide to Awakened Wellness will be used only for the service you requested.

14. Complaints:

Awakened Wellness is confident that you will not find cause for concern during your retreat. If you feel that a complaint is warranted you must raise the issue directly with Awakened Wellness. Any retrospective complaint must be made in writing to Awakened Wellness within 14 days of the end of your retreat.

15. Media Release:

By registering for this event, I give my consent to have my picture taken in film & video recording, and for these images to be used in by Awakened Wellness for promotional purposes. These photographs/videos/audios will remain the property of Awakened Wellness and may be used in advertising or marketing campaigns on its websites, and for promotional and informational material including, but not limited to social media, flyers, brochures, newsletters, emails, advertisements, newspaper articles, TV or cable interviews/promotions.
